So there’s this blog that I religiously follow — an ex-wedding blog turned design and photography blog with a midcentury modern desert theme, for chrissakes, a desert fete is sortofkindofeverything I want in my life right now. Jamie has a mini series tagged weekend, and it’s basically photos from her, whatayaknow, weekends. Her weekends are filled with desert foliage, bertoia chairs, and oriental siamese cats. Not only is it beautiful, but it’s inspiring — it makes me go out and do stuff instead of playing Sims 3 all weekend.
So. I’m starting a weekend report too. Because 1) it’ll remind me to do those pesky out-nom posts and 2) my toy camera fleet is starting to collect dust.
This weekend, we went down to Don’s family’s in San Diego to celebrate his brother’s birthday. It was really hot. So hot that we couldn’t really sleep throughout the weekend.
We went to Yakyudori 2 to try their ramen. I’ll post on that later in the week, but first, I wanted to show you the bigass beer Don ordered. 33 oz of tap Sapporo for 8 bucks. He drank it all, and then some.
On the way to our favorite burrito place, Don took an alternate route and showed me the desert-y side of his town because he thought that I’d like it. I did. It was vast and empty and fire-inviting in all its glory.
When we got home on Sunday, we ran some errands, ate some fried rice, and PTFO’d. Very productive, indeed.
