i love rainier cherries but i can never eat them all. so i took the left overs and made a gastrique (a french sweet and sour sauce made with caramelized sugar) with it.

the sauce itself is supposed to be awesome with duck, but we don’t eat a whole lot of meat at inomthings HQ. we threw it with some shochu and it tasted like butt, so i’m going to pick up some rum and whiskey to make some cocktails with it.

Oh yum, I would make a cherry upside down cake, then drizzle that delicious sauce over the top and eat it with ice cream.
josh, the cocktail turned out great! the gastrique is awesome on some vanilla ice cream too.
