i baked pizzas. (when am i not?)
this one: blue cheese mornay sauce, caramelized radicchio, grilled chicken, mushrooms, lemony arugula salad. basically a copycat of the pizzas i made at my old place.
we ate cake.
at Tout Sweet Patisserie by Yigit Pura, the OG top chef just desserts champion. selections are small, but everything is superbly executed.
it’s so hard to find fine french entremet/pastries like this nowadays…
i had the Tesla tart (lemon and passion fruit!) and Little One had the Fifth Element (oolong white chocolate mousse with raspberries). we sat by the big window and watched people fall on their asses at the ice rinks in Unions Square, and sipped on herbal tea. it was awesome. until we tried to walk back to our car and somehow got lost in the tenderloin for an hour.
then i baked a cake with my sister.
because just eating it was not enough.
we baked a gateau st. honore.
we are half vietnamese, which predispositions us to consume anything remotely custard like a vacuum cleaner. needless to say, it was gone by the next day.
in closing, i leave you with a photo of Shiro. because who doesn’t like dog photos?
